INDIANA: April 1 –Michigan City Lighthouse Museum opens for season MICHIGAN: April 7- Statewide Astronomy Night– several planetariums across the state have events. April 7-23 Michigan State University Science Festival… Check it out- lots of opportunities to engage in science fun with our kids! April 15- Greenfield village opens at the Henry Ford Museum April 22- Kellogg Bird Sanctuary; August MI- free Earth Day admission Minnesota: April 12-May 14 – WICKED the musical at the Orpheus theater. We saw this in South Bend last fall and it was FANTASTIC..worth every cent! Pennsylvania: April 8-9 Hershey Park Opens – Limited weekends in April VIRGINIA: Now through June 4: Portsmouth, VA Children’s Museum of Virgina: Dinosuars: Land of Fire and Ice exhibit WISCONSIN: Through April 16- Wisconsin Dells- Bigfoot Zipline Tours discount Nationwide: April 15-16 and April 22-23- In celebration of National Park Week– all National Parks will offer FREE admission

My family LOVES to travel. My blog isn’t about “things to do” where we live- it’s about things to do anywhere! We love to experience new things all of the time and so I try to find interesting things to do anywhere. Any time I post these monthly ideas of free/cheap things to do- I try to find things in a variety of places… Some of them we’ve been to, and some of them we would LOVE to go to if the chance ever comes up- here’s some fun things for March California: Asian Art Museum– San Francisco – Free the first Sunday of each month as part of the Target First Free Sunday program. Georgia: Children’s Museum of Atlanta– Atlanta- Free the second Tuesday (March 14) as part of the Target Free admission program. Florida: Fort George Island Cultural State Park– Jacksonville- FREE ADMISSION. open 8am-Sundown. Texas: Houston Zoo-Houston- Free First Tuesday afternoon (March 7) noon-5pm (zoo closes at 6pm) You can get advance tickets up to a week in advance, or at the door the day of. Runs September- May. Ohio: Columbus Zoo– Columbus: Half price admission through March 17. Going to the movies with a family of 4 has gotten pretty pricey these days! I love the cinemas that offer free or cheap spring matinee movies… here’s a list of this spring… it’s pretty short so feel free to add any you know about in the comments. I’ll peruse them and add them in. MICHIGAN Flick’s Family Film Festival at Celebration Cinema’s (Super excited to see TROLLS on March 10th… but there’s a good lineup of movies Feb 24-April 20. free for kids 12 and under (it doesn’t list adult pricing but in the past I believe it was $5) MICHIGAN, FLORIDA, INDIANA, ILLINOIS and MISSOURI: Goodrich Quality Theaters: Morning Movies runs March 3- April 30. FMG members (a free “frequent movie goer” club) receives up to 6 tickets FREE for each movie or non-members only pay $1.
