Some of the local stores are already advertising their Back To School Deals: (NOTE: I’ve only included deals that appear to last into September 2015 so that this post is relavant for the entire “school shopping season”. You may find weekly deals that are better- but I don’t always have time to drop everything and hit the weekly sales at […]
Recently I was shopping for a new book to read on a cross-country flight from Michigan to California. I picked up The Girl on the Train and packed it in my carry on. (The photo takes you to Amazon so you can see more details if you think you might be interested in this book) I pulled this out during the first leg of my flight and literally finished it 1.5 hours before landing in Los Angeles. It’s an amazing , suck you in, story of a lonely, divorced woman who hasn’t quite recovered from her husband leaving her for another woman. She rides the train in to town every day to keep her roommate from knowing the truth about the current state of her life. One day, while riding the train into town, she sees something curious and gets herself involved in an investigation. The plot and character development is really great and I couldn’t stop reading. I really NEEDED to know what happened. I did, about half way through, start to get an idea of the direction it was taking but that only served to suck me in more so I could see if I was right. I don’t always have a lot of time to read in my “busymom” life of work, kids and everything in between so I really appreciated a book that I could START AND FINISH all in one day while traveling.
If you find yourself in or near SW Michigan, you really MUST make plans to visit the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, MI This zoo is outside of the ordinary with it’s natural settings. We visit many zoos as we travel to new locations, but we’re always amazed at the beautiful scenery, natural settings, cleanliness and even friendliness of […]
We recently stopped in Memphis, TN for some lunch on our way back from vacation. We ended up spending 4 hours on two roads in this beautiful place and can’t wait to head back for a “real” vacation. We stopped here in search of BBQ on Beale Streat. We perused many restaurant menus and ended up at the Rum Boogie […]
We’re setting up plans to travel with our kids for a long weekend, soon. I thought I’d share some of the deals I found when trying to decide where to go. I was primarily looking in the mid-west at specific locations but there’s a couple on here that are probably further than I would drive – I chose to include […]
I am always looking for different things to go in my kids lunches. They get sick of the same old thing all the time. At first when I saw this “Minions” themed applesauce, I thought it was just going to be regular applesauce with pretty pictures on the side. BUT… when I got a little closer, I realized it was […]
Recently, I was cleaning some furniture from my daughter’s room and found that some munchkin from my crew of two colored with yellow and orange crayon on the side of a dresser. I already had a buyer for this dresser and was a little startled to find that one of the kids colored all over both sides and even some […]
I’m not sure about your kids, but I’m already hearing “I’m bored, what can we do today?” Well… I started looking into cheap/ free options. Here’s a wrap up of some upcoming activities for kids to stay active this summer without breaking your budget: 1) Lowe’s Build And Grow classes– They have some Marvel Avengers classes coming up in July […]
